Well, now that was unexpected. He just stood there for a moment, trying to figure out what to do. Ithilwen looked at him and raised an eyebrow, as if to say, your turn. He finally came and knealt by his wife. "You are not fat," he said. "Don't worry, I don't think you fat at all! I think your large belly quite beautiful, actually." He smiled what he hoped was encouragingly at her.

She sniffled, "You do?" she asked, not believing him. "But, I'm huge," she said, pointing to her stomach again.

He smiled. "Your belly is huge," he contradicted her. "You are still your smal, beautiful. Besides, your belly is huge for what it contains -- a new life. That, all by itself, would be enough. But it is not all."

She sniffled again, grabbing hold of him, "I love you so much," she said, crying because she was happy.

He smiled. At least she was crying for the right reason now. "And I love you," he said. "Very much. Now, then, would you please put on your robe before your nephew learns more about the female anatomy than he's ready for?"

Alya smiled, kissing his cheek, "Anything for you," she said, putting on the robe she had flung on the floor. She smiled at him, "What is it you came back for?" she asked, wondering why he was home so soon.

He smiled. "I forgot my bracers," he said, disbelieving himself. He almost never forgot anything, taking his work very seriously. "And thank you." He kissed her forehead, standing up.

Ithilwen shook her head when he left. She was glad that was over! Calmly, she went back to her sewing, as if nothing was amiss.

Alya to sat down, scratching her skin, "Ah, stupid robe," she said, this time keeping it on. "Did your clothes hurt you?" she asked her sister.

Ithilwen shook her head. "No," she said. She didn't mention that clothing wasn't really an issue at the time. "I never had a problem."

She nodded, scratching again, before returning to her work. She sighed, eating a peice of eel cook had brought out to her. "This is the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten," she told Ithilwen, making a face for emphasis.

Ithilwen smiled. That she did understand. She hated pickled fish, but couldn't stop eating it. Glauron had not been pleased -- both she and everywhere she ate smelled horrible.

Alya shook her head, eating another bite. "Finished," she said holding up the blanket. It was a good size, and of good quality. "I can add it to the collection of baby things I have," she giggled.

Ithilwen smiled. The excitement of the baby was always so wonderful! "Do you have any idea yet what it may be?" she asked.
