He blinked, wondering how to phrase this. "It is a thing," he said. "I created it while with ... my family," he used her euphemism, "but that's the only connection. I can always make more, after I ... heal." He looked down at the carving and smiled. "You keep it."

Mirwen didn't want to, but she wasn't about to say no."If you insist." she looked down and, after an awkward silence, looked up."Are you upset that you're in Rivendell?"

He hesitated again before answering. "No," he lied. "It was the logical choice."

Mirwen looked at him, eyes almost narrowing."You sure?" she didn't think he was lying, but she found it hard to believe that he was telling the truth, also. She was probably making it a lot more complicated than it was."And I live here, and it was the only place I could think of at the time." she shook her head."Nothing 'logical' about it."

He chuckled. "And you're familiar with the area," he argued, "and people are used to seeing you come and go, and if I'm being searched for this close to Elves is the last place anyone would look. Very logical."

She shrugged, but didn't argue."What do you think you're going to do when you've healed?" she'd kind-of hoped that he would stay..... but she wouldn't force it if she could help it.

He sighed. "I've been thinking about that one," he said, "and I still don't have an answer. Perhaps go back, search for any survivors, any at all."

Mirwen nodded."I suppose you would..." she blinked and nodded."Is there anything else I can get you." her whole demeanor changed after he spoke, from kind and caring to serious. GTG! See you tomorrow!

He turned and regarded her for a moment. "What's wrong?" he asked her.

She shook her head."Nothing,"she lied."I was just wondering if there was anything else that I could get you, is all."

He frowned. "Your entire demeanor changed when I said I would be searching for survivors," he pointed out.

She didn't reply at first, instead busying herself with fixing up anything and everything in the room."How so?" she called over her shoulder.

Adan thought of how to word it. He was an observant man, especially for a human, but he was no poet. "You became ... cold."

OOC: You were on? Dang, but I have bad timing..... Mirwen turned around."I did not!" she snapped, not realizing what she said."And if I became anything, it certainly wasn't cold."

Adan's face clouded over. Since the destruction of his home, family, and all he really had to live for, he had mellowed quite a bit. But his temper was still there. "I see," he said, his own voice turning frosty.
