Naru's eyes fluttered open and he held the horse's reigns. "You know," he whispered, still sleepy. "I can help you go faster."

Din concentrated and started to feel about her surroundings. The black mist formed again, and was quicley engulfing Rivendell. The trees around the forest path began to stretch untill they made an opening onley a child could get through. Finally Rivendell was completley plunged into darkness, and the sky was almost a pitch black. That outta stop them. Din scrambled over to her horse, exausted frm her work, and galloped off behind Vanmoreil.

Ithilwen came home after visiting Alya, surprised to find the house quiet. "Agalos? Laur? Anyone?" she called out. She searched each room, suddenly aware that her dagger was starting to vibrate and glow. "What . . .?" she said, taking it out. It pointed strongly out of Rivendell. Surprised, she followed it, and found evidence of a brief struggle. Had the unthinkable happened and someone kidnapped the twins?!? Angered beyond belief, she saddled a horse, quickly got supplies handy, and rode off in persuit, following her dagger.
She was just out of Rivendell when the black mist surrounded it. She barely noticed.

Din heard some galloping hooves behind her, and made the mist thicker. "Damn..." she cursed. She made the rest of the trees cover up the path behind her. It was tiring, but she had to practice.

Ithilwen raced after her children's captors, with little luck. The trees themselves suddenly covered her path, as the dagger glowed a vibrant green. Startled, she reined the horse in just long enough for the horse and rider ahead to get away. Cursing herself, she pulled the dagger out yet again, seeing which way it pointed, and started out in pursuit again.

Vanmoriel hissed at their rebellion. "Keep still!" she said. "You won't like the consequences if you don't!"

Vanmoriel cursed, pulling a riding whip from her bag and bringing it down on Agalos' leg hard enough to leave a small welt. "I have no wish to hurt either of you," she hissed at them. "I caren nothing about either of you -- you're nothing but pawns, bait for a much larger trap. But if I have to, believe me, I will cause you both great pain, and enjoy every moment of it!" That said, she brought the whip down again on first Agalos' then Laur's thigh, to remind them.

Laur winced and tears welled in her eyes. Alagos on the other hand, winced and glared. He looked to his siter, painking. He had promised his mother he would take care of his sister and her. He needed to!

Din still heard the galloping of hooves. She decided to give Naru to Vanmoriel, while she fought off the pursuer. "Here." she said, plopping Naru onto Vanmoriel's horse. "Ride ahed, as fast as you can." she instructed. Din pulled the cowl of her hood up to her face and rode back. She almost looked like a wraith.
