During
The One Ring has surfaced -- owned, by all people, by one Frodo Baggins of the Shire. He, along with three Hobbit companions and the odd Ranger Strider, have fled to Rivendell, seeking the advice of Elrond. A Council has been formed, and it has been decided that they, along with four others, shall travel to Mordor to try and destroy the One Ring the only place it can be destroyed -- the fires of Mount Doom, whence it was created. All Middle-earth waits for the outcome. Will their quest prove sucessful?
Before
The time is about 2997 TA (Third Age). A dark shadow has begun to once-again spread itself over Middle-earth from Mordor. Those who know of such things have begun to worry. Elrond and Galadriel worry that the decision of the White Council was foolish. Aragorn has met Arwen on Cerin Amroth in Lórien, and they have pledged their love for one another. Saruman has turned traitor, lying to the White Council that the One Ring is known to have passed into the Sea unharmed, and is now starting to think about using his own palantír. Balin went to rebuild Moria eight years ago, and his friends have been wondering about his lack of word. Thorin and Company have been to the Lonely Mountain and back, and a certain Bilbo of the Shire is starting to learn what a helpful artifact the Ring he found can be . . .

Read the Rules before you do anything, then create your character and post their profile under the appropriate board. But, above all, have fun and enjoy your stay! We hope you'll be back soon, though; friendly faces are hard to find these days . . .
