NAME: Vorn Craban Morgond AGE: Born sometime during the first half of the second age. GENDER: Male RACE: Mirkwood Elf
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Slight of build, of slightly lesser stature than the average male elf. Dark, smokey-black hair, which is a little longer than shoulder-length. He usually lets it 'run wild'. He has graceful, attractive features, with clear, interested eyes and a good-natured smile that rarely deserts his lips (though his profile picture doesn't testify to this very well!)
PERSONALITY: A fairly good leader, usually gravitates towards people with a sense of humor, but is able to get along well with more or less everyone; has a nack for making strangers feel at home with his light-hearted banter and outgoing ways. However, when it comes to battle, he is all no-nonesence. Of course he'll toss lighthearted comments and sarcasticly funny jokes about as he fights, sometimes, but as for the actual fighting, you don't want him as your foe.
He loves the mountains, and always seems to find himself drawn to them when he wanders off on his own, which happens quite often - he's the restless sort, who's never entirely content anywhere for long periods of time. He hungers for new experiences and places, and that motivates most of his travels.
Family: Orodern Morgond (Father) Silica (Mother)
HISTORY: Born in Mirkwood to Orodern Morgond, a black and silver smith, and Silica, a seamstress. He grew up in Mirkwood, serving as a mounted archer there for several years before being called to be a guard in the King's court for a time. He was also a bordergaurd shortly after that.
UNIQUE POSSESSIONS: Strong bow he attained in Mirkwood when he was a mounted archer - it is crafted of an ebony-colored wood, with intricate designs of vines and leave winding themselves all along it. Also, Vorn has an 8-year-old large black elven-bred stallion he bought from a breeder in Rivendell several years back. On his right hand he wears a small, plain silver ring. He also had a sword that his father made for him, but it sort of got... melted.... long story.
Special Talents/Abilities/Disablilities Vorn Craban is an excellent archer. He rarely, if ever, misses his mark - his aim is deadly. He's also quite skilled the a sword, but usually shuns it as being too large and heavy for him 'to drag around everywhere.'
He knows a small bit of healing (he knows how to use splints and how to bring down a simple fevor, for example) but anything more than the basics he is more or less clueless about.
He is an excellent horseman, and a good hunter and tracker. He can cook some things, but prefers just to follow instructions when it comes to working on the kitchen.
He owns a sheperd's pipe, which he either carries around on a leather cord slung about his neck, or in his pack or pocket. He enjoys playing it on lengthy rides when making up new songs with the simple instrument breaks the monotiny of the ride.

I plan to add more to this and expand on it a bit before I use him anywhere, so check back when I start playing him and he'll be updated. Also, feedback is greatly appreciated! I like to know what people think of my characters.

Wow. Just ... wow. I think that is the most detailed profile on the board. Certainly the most details anyone ever started out with! And a very compelling character. I look forward to his meeting Ithilwen!

Thank you! I do like to put a lot of thought and detail into my characters - it helps me get to know them better, and I find I do a better job at writing for them. His history is a bit lame, though... sorry about that. He's one of my main characters on another group I'm on, which takes place when Vorn is a bit older than I have him here, so a lot of interesting things that have yet to happen to him at this point in time had to be removed frm the 'history' section. Oh well. I'll start role playing in a couple days - I think I'm just going to leave him as is for now. Glad you like him!

That explains a lot! That you've had him for awhile, I mean. I like to start off with an almost blank character, and "get to know them" as I go. It's not uncommon for the history of a new character of mine to say "more info later" or something like that! For major characters, I mean. One's I just have for variety, I'll throw up whatever. Edit: oh, wow, nice doll! Where'd you get the base?

A friend actually found the doll for me and asked if I wanted it in my siggy. I don't know where it came from, actually... I'm not a doller. (I'd like to be, but I don't know how to even begin!)

If you find it, let me know! (The base, or the actual dool - if you find the base, maybe I can try my hand at dolling. If you find the doll, I'll formally ask permission to use it in my siggy ) Actually, I'm going to read through whatever RPGs are running and hop in tonight, hopefully.

Yay! I found it, and edited my post above to reflect it. Only thing is, the guy's got blond hair, your friend changed it. Anyway ... the base is by the awesome Meko of Unreal Designs (whose bases I practically cut my teeth on), which are great, except they don't come with a face. Oh, but the guy base is hers. And, I'd be honored to start a thread with you, if you'd like.

Our characters meet? I don't know, I usually just start one and see what happens.

Up to you. FYI, my character as well as another girl's have just been captured by a rogue band of humans, then brainwashed to think they've been with them the entire time. (Actually, they just gave them an herb that destroyed their memories, kinda like Glaurung with Niniel, only just personal stuff, like who they are and where they're from. They still remember language, etc.) So, Ithilwen thinks she's Helinniel. Ummm ... it sounds complicated, and un-Tolkien, but it's not!

Hmm... okay, I understand more-or-less. And it doesn't sound un-Tolkien like. One of my RPG characters has a brother who is severely mentally unstable (she's a Rivendell Elf). Anyhow, I think it best that you make the first post and I'll work off if it.
