Alya had gotten tired of being in one place for so long. She hadn't traveled in over a year and a half. She had never lasted that long in one place since she was a small child, and had no choice. She had dreams every night of traveling Middle Earth with Landion. She woke up one morning from an especially good dream and rolled over. "We should travel," she whispered to Landion.

Landion was barely awake. "What do you mean?" he asked her.

"I mean you and I should travel. We should go and see Middle Earth. There is so much more then Rivendell!" she smiled, dreaming of her past travels. "Oh, it would be so much fun!" she squeeled.

Landion laughed. "Oh, Alya, you're so sweet sometimes! Of course we will. One day." He rolled over onto his back, yawned, and got up to prepare for work.

She sighed. She wanted to go now. "But why can't we go now? I miss traveling!" she mopped, following him into the kitchen.

He laughed. "Oh, Alya! I have my apprenticeship! I can't leave that now! Plus, we're settled here. Isn't this enough?"

She put her head on her hand. "Of course it's enough. I love it here, but...." she trailed off, "I just miss traveling to see different lands. Different people. I miss my friends sometimes." she said, moving her food around on her plate.

He got up to kiss her forehead. "I'm sorry, dear, but I cannot go. Perhaps in a year or two?"

She nodded, and sighed again. Two yeas seemed like such a long time away. She wondered what she would do to pass the time. She had already made him a new tunic, and she needed a break from sewing.

He smiled at her. "Now, I must go to work," he said. "Are you going to see your sister today?"

She nodded. At least she could talk to Ithilwen. She stood up and said her good byes. Then she went and got ready. She walked to Ithilwen, her mind going numb trying to think of things to do.

Ithilwen smiled to her sister as she walked in, but noticed her mood right away. "Alya, what's wrong?"

She plopped down, "Oh nothing." she sighed, "It's just, I'm ready to go somewhere. To travel again. But Landion can't go for at least another two years." she pouted.

Ithilwen smiled. She could never understand her sister's restlesness. "I'm sorry, my sister," she said. "It sounds as if you're going to be here for awhile, though." She shook her head, making another stitch.

She sighed, "I don't even know what to do with myself. I've never settled down for this long. And it is driving me insane!" she huffed. "I mean my goodness, what do you do with yourself to pass time?" she asked.
