Before LotR
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining bright, the birds were singing, and Ithilwen was fully enjoying herself. She had come here to enjoy nature, and work on the handkerchief she had been making to replace the one Glauron lost. But she was doing more looking around and thinking then actually working.

Alya arrived in Rivendell late. She looked around smiling. It was a pretty place. No Lothlórien, but pretty nonetheless. She had gotten word that Ithilwen had been captured, and had returned to Rivendell. She had decided to go see her, despite the fact that she hadn't seen her in a very long time. She had been directed to where Ithy had been lat seen and was going to see her.

Ithilwen heard someone come up behind her. Smiling, she turned to see who it was.
The Elf standing there, regarding her, was the last person in Middle-earth she expected to see.
"Alya?" she asked, surprised. "How have you been?!"

Alya staired at her white eye. "What happened? That looks horrible!" she said, not caring how rude she sounded. "Can you see out of it?" she said waving her hand in front of her sisters face.

Ithilwen's jaw practically gropped. "Umm . . . no, I can't," she said. She had forgotten how blunt her sister can be. She shook her head. "Why are you in Rivendell?" she asked.

"Well," she said, straightening her dress. “I heard you had been captured, and that you had returned. So I decided to see how you were. I figured it was the least I could do.” She said flashing Ithy her perfectly white smile.

Ithilwen didn't know quite how to take that. "Thank you," she said. "I've had a tough time, but I'm recovering nicely. How have you been? How's Lothlórien?" She flashed a smile of her own.

"Perfect, as usual." She said laughing. “Though I am getting quite bored with life there. How about here? How is life in Rivendell?” she was curious.

She smiled, a genuine one now. "Perfect," she said. "And I'm sorry you couldn't make the wedding! But Glauron is so good to me, and the twins are amazing."

She gave her a look of surprise. "Twins? You mean Elrohir and Elladan? How are those boys doing these days?" she laughed. She had had a crush on them. She chuckled at her the fact that she had once found them attractive.

She looked up, startled. "Oh, no one told you?" she asked. "Glauron and I had twins together. A boy and a girl -- Calimalaureon and Laureoniel."

"Oh! You had children? My! Well, that is just perfect. How old are they?" she had not expected that. She had just gotten the news that her sister had been married. SHe had NOT gotten news that she was pregnant. With twins no less.

Ithilwen grinned inwardly at her ability to set her sister off guard so easily. "Six months," she said, beaming with maternal pride. "And Cali already has his first tooth! Laur said her first word the other day."

"Well, I can't wait to meet them, and Glauron. Wow, I'm an aunt." she smiled. "When can I, by the way? Meet them I mean."

Ithilwen put away her handkerchief. "Right now, if you'd like," she said, and led her sister toward Glauron and her home. "You can stay in the guest bedroom, if you'd like," she said.
