Ithilwen still would not look at Finnar. Instead, she laughed in disbelief. It was not a nice laugh. "You forgot to shackle me, that's all," she said. "Do not confuse forgetfulness with kindness." She snorted. "Now, again, give me a good reason not to tell them."

Finnar raised an eyebrow. "Because I am close to death, and It damn well won't make a difference. Oh, yeah. Ro-Hans in prancing around Rivendell some where, so if you kill someone make it him." she coughed. "And I saved you from being a slave to Sauron. You were damn popular when you were with me..."

That got her attention. "Slave . . . to Sauron?" she asked, turning around to look at Finnar, shocked. "What do you mean, popular?"

"You wre a damn good slave. Sauron commanded the Withking to command me to give you to Sauron. I felt that that was going to be the death of you, and you have too much to live for, so I set you free. And I got the Black Breath and beat up by the Witchking because of it."

For a moment, Ithilwen just stood there, stunned. "Why would he have wanted me?" she asked. From what she could remember, she was a horrible slave -- way too willful, at all the wrong times.

"Because you fought back. I mean, all the slaves never fight back, and that gets boring after a while. You fought back, which would give Sauron some amusement untill he'd accidentally kill you." Finnar explained. "Now If you don't mind, I'd like to have my first restful sleep."

Ithilwen shuddered. She didn't want to think about what kind of 'amusement' someone like the Dark Lord could think up. Instead, still slightly shaken at the fate she might have had, she said, "thank you." And meant it, wholeheartedly.

Finnar nodded off before Ithilwen could say thanks. The only thoughts that remained in her head were if this was her last breath on Arda. Fortunatley, it wasn't.

Ithilwen left the half-orc to herself, gently closing the door behind her. She was still troubled by what she had been told, so she didn't notice those outside. She nearly went through the roof when Elrond approached her. "Who is she?" he asked her.
"A friend," was all she would reply, as she headed home. She had a lot to think about, and an opinion to revise.
He shook his head, and entered the room quietly, to await her awakening.

Finnar awoke after three days of rest. "Ithilwen? How long have I been asleep?" But instead of seeing white hair she saw raven black hair. And instead of a female face, she saw a male one. "AHHHH! Go away, scary man!" she screamed in fright.

Elrond tried to quiet the odd half-breed down. "I am not a 'scary man', " he couldn't help but point out, "I am Elrond Halfelven. Welcome to Rivendell. Ithilwen has told me you are a friend of hers, and so you have been given sanctuary. You have been asleep for three days, and are healed of the Black Breath. Although you will need rest."
OOC: kinda sudden, I know, but if Aragorn could cure Eowyn by waiving a few leaves around . . .

"I'm cured? Wow thank you scary-- I mean...Elrond." Finnar looked herself over. "Any idea when I'm gonna die? I'm 50 so It should be soon..."

Elrond rose an eyebrow, but decided not to comment. Instead, he simply said, "I think you still have a decade or two to go, at least."
OOC: anyone who can pass as 24 at the age of 50 . . .

"Really? What's a decade?" Finnar asked. "And where's Ithilwen?"
OOC: I know...

Elrond lifted an eyebrow. "Ten years," he said. "And Ithilwen is at home. I can get her, though, if you'd like."
