Naru smiled over his mother's harp. He was 'barrowing' it. His small finger stroked at the strings, and a smile brought to his lips. He just hoped no one would find him. He didn't want his mother hating him like everyone else.

Laur came in, and saw Naru on Aunt Nimmir's harp. "Naru!" she cried. "You're gonna get in trouble!" She was honestly worried for her cousin's well-being!
But Agalos was right behind her. "Yeah, Naru, 'cause I'm gonna tell!"

Naru looked up and blinked. "Why are you here?" he asked Agalos, a little sad. "I thought you were working with your... father." He sighed and looked to Laur.
"I'm just lookin' at it... I'm not gonna hurt it..."

Agalos was taken aback by his cousin's sadness. "Ada's got the day off, stupid head!" he said, with less malice than normal.
Laur shook her head. "You shouldn't call him that, brother!" she said. This was the one point she didn't agree with her twin about. "And he wasn't hurtin' it! Jus' lookin!"

His red eyes narrowed and he glared at his cousin. His red eyes made a few of the more ignorent elves call him 'Little Feanor' in jest, and it wasn't as a complement. Most of them were Silvan. Eramrath hated the named and silenced everyone when he heard it.
"Yeah!" he said with a nod. "It's been all over, the World, being in the Garden won't hurt it!"

Agalos shrugged, while Laur smiled. "Exactly!" she said happily. She found her cousin quite charming, and liked his eyes. "Play it!" she said. "We want to hear it! Don't we, brother?" Agalos just shrugged again.

"I only know one song," he admitted and blushed gently. "But you'll have to sing... you know my voice isn't goot for singing..."
His fingers touched the harp gently, and the well known tune started.
O! What are you doing, And where are you going? Your ponies need shoeing! The river is flowing! O! tra-la-la-lally here down in the valley!

Laur jumped up and clapped her hands excitedly. Agalos rolled his eyes, pretending indifference, but actually was enjoying the tune. Naru played well, for a young half-orc.

He stumbled a bit over the end and smiled happily. "You're voice is preitter than my mother's," he told Laur, a smile. Lips closed. Most little children showed their teeth, but he hated his own. Once he tried to pull them before Eramrath had stopped him, telling him that different was better.

Laur blushed. "Aww, Naru!" he said. "That's not true! You're mother sings beautifully!"

"Not like you!" he told her and smiled, looking over at her and then stopped seeing his other cousin.

Agalos glowered. He wanted to be good at something, too! But he couldn't think of anything. Not to say he was jealous of his sister, no, not at all! He loved her too much for that! But, still . . .
Laur giggled. "Let's do another song!" she said. "Agalos, you want to sing one?" She had sensed her brother's mood.

"I can't play anymore on the harp," he told her blusing. "I have my pipes!" he took them out and blew gently.

Laur clapped her hands again, excited, while Agalos continued to look bored. "Come, brother, sing!" Laur said. Agalos made a big deal of it, but eventually complied. His voice was nearly as good as his sister's, and would be a lovely baritone after puberty -- both took after their mother in that respect.

Naru was jelous of the both of them. Both perfect and beautiful, and with the voices! The only thing he was good at was playing music, not even writing it. Still he smiled. He looked at his cousin. She was his best friend, and the only person he ever talked to.
