Before LotR
Eramrath found himself at the shards of Narsil, overlooking the broken sword. He squinted at the almost glowing sword, in the dim light of the evning. Today was a grim day. He hadn't told anyone. It was his beggeting day, and that afternoon he acctually bothered to calculate his true age. This day he turned 14 000 years old.
No wonder he was acting insane around others. It was porbably the change of one mellenia to another. He must have scared them off, somehow. Poor things, having to put up with an elf who was turning 14 000. He started fiddling with his wooden finger, trying to imagine the real one there.

OOC: if no one else's going to bite, Ithy will! BIC: Ithilwen came up to see the shards of Narsil for the first time in years. She hadn't ever really paid much attention to them before -- it was just a broken sword, one of those Human things. But Glauron had been working for quite a bit recently, and Nimmir was off in the Golden Wood, and she was bored and lonely. So, she went to see the sword her husband would one day reforge.

Eramrath heard someone approach the shards of Narsil. He froze, hoping that it wasn't Glauron...or worse Arwen. Instead he saw that it was only Ithilwen, and slipped on his leather glove, to hide his finger. "Damn, this thing's older than Narsil..." he muttered about his finger. "You again?" he said out loud, as a greeting towards ithilwen.

Ithilwen froze. She hadn't realized that there was someone else here. But then she saw who it was. "Oh, hi, Eramrath," she said. "Just came up to see the shards of Narsil!"

Eramrath nodded. "You're married to Galuron, right?" he asked. Peicing some peices of the puzzle together, he figured out that Ithilwen was here to see the sword that her husband someday will reforge. That someday, Eramrath would be in Aqualonde. "You here to see what he's going to reforge...?"

Ithilwen laughed. "Yes, I am married to Glauron," she said, "at the wedding you yourself attended!" She shook her head. "I want to appologize for the things said about you there, by my father," she said. "None of them were true."

Eramrath shrugged. "Half of em' were, acctually. I just didn't feel like admiting I did half of those things at a wedding. Especially with Ni--" Eramrath cut himself off. "Yeah. Today isn't such a good day, either...for me."

Ithilwen looked concerned. She didn't like the Elf that much, but neither did she wish ill for him. "What is so bad about today?" she asked.

"Beggeting day..." he shrugged. "Sorry for acting so...insane the other day. I figured I had finally snapped, but it turns out it was a week before my 14 000th beggeting day. So yes. Every mellenia this happens..." he explained. "Sorry..."

Ithilwen tried to imagine living long enough to know what her body did every thousand years, and couldn't. "Don't worry about it," she said. "All of us act a little crazy from time to time."

Eramrath shrugged. "True..." he muttered. "You'll see..."

Ithilwen laughed. "Yes, I hope to someday," she replied. "But at least I'll have Glauron to help me smooth out the worse of it!"

"Haha..." Eramrath sarcastically remarked. "Doesn't matter if your husband is there It hits you. Hard." he remarked.
"Right what am I saying? You're past 1 000 years, right? Do you already begrudge beggeting days?" he asked.

Ithilwen blinked, surprised. "No, can't say that I do," she admitted. "Mostly, I don't worry about it one way or another." She shrugged. "I'm no mortal, to begrudge the passing of the years."

Eramrath nodded. "Neither do I." It was a lie. He begrudged every passing year. "How's Glauron...?" he asked, not really wanting to know, but forcing small talk.
