"I could be better," Tuv said, looking down. But Ithilwen's haste to hide her face caught the corner of her eye. However, she made a decision not to pry anymore.

Ithilwen smiled. "How could you be a better friend?" she asked, lightly scolding. "By being there with me? Going through it with me?"

"Perhaps," she said, chuckling lighly. Or rather, attempting too. Realizing that it appeared that she was trying to hard, Tuveren stopped.
"Well, not sure if this'll help or not, but I this make you feel any better?" Túveren pulled out the twine that tied her hair. She shook out her hair a bit. "Suprise. Someone suggested that I cut it, so it wouldn't get in the way."
She gave a crooked smile as her hair fell, chin length.

For a moment, Ithilwen just sat there, staring at Túveren's hair, shocked. Then she began to chuckle. "Short hair is in style now, is it?" she asked, still laughing. "I like it."

She shrugged. "Thank you. I guess. Of course, my hair wasn't nearly as long as yours in the first place." Túveren got up, and sat down on the bench beside Ithilwen. Would her friend ever be the same? But why was she hiding her face?

Ithilwen smiled sadly. "No, you didn't," she admitted, wanting to run her hands through her own hair and find it long again, not chin length! But that wouldn't happen for awhile. She sighed. At least her hair would grow back! Her other scars were hers for life.
Then the twins, sensing her melancholy mood and deeming that the friends had had privacy long enough, came over. One sat to Ithilwen's left, and the other to Túveren's right. Elladan (beside Ithilwen) put his arm lightly around Ithilwen and gently started to massage around her dead eye. Ithilwen sighed, greatful -- it itched, a lot of the time!

A little puzzled over Elladan's behavior (or perhaps it was Elrohir. . .she like nearly everyone else, could hardly tell the difference. Was he. . . massaging Ithilwen's face? She didn't even ask.

Elladan looked at Túveren. "She isn't bothering you, is she?" he asked Ithilwen. Both twins had gotten very protective of their adopted sister!
Ithilwen smiled. "No, she isn't," she said. "She just came to cheer me up." The tone of voice suggested she was anything but.

Túveren sighed. "I can leave first thing in the morning if I'm a bother to you," she said, shrugging.
OOC: Have to wonder if you're going anywhere with this. Since the twins popped in I'm assuming you are. I'll follow your lead!

OOC: you know what happens when you assume? you make an a*s of u and me! No, I'm not going anywhere special with this -- just brought them in for variety.
BIC:
Ithilwen shook her head. "No, stay!" she asked. "It's fine, you're fine here!" She smiled at her friend, turning her head slightly so Túveren could see the gesture. But Elladan's hand was still in her cloak hood, and the hood fell away from her face. She pulled it back up again hastily, but not before Túveren got a good look at what her friend had been hiding.
OOC: figured it was about time.

Her mouth dried up. "Oh," she said simply. Tuveren had no idea how to react! She lowered her eyes. What to say, what to say?
"What the he!l did they do to you?" she blurted out. Horrified, she clamped her mouth shut and her hands flew to cover her mouth. But it was too late.
OOC: Lol, righto then! And figured it was time for Túvvie to make some dumb mistake. Something I would say myself as a matter of fact. . .

Ithilwen smiled bitterly. "She strapped me to a table on my stomach, put my head in a vase so I couldn't move it, clamped my eyelid open, then drilled right into the pupil." She said this without emotion, like she was telling Túveren about the weather that day.

Tuveren refused to meet Ithilwen's eyes. She didn't even dare to look to the twins. "I'm---I---sorry." she said simply. Tuveren was really no good in any of these situations. "Errrr. . . "

Ithilwen shrugged. "Don't be," she said. "It was hardly the worse thing they did to me." She stared off into space. Elladan looked at her, worried, while Elrohir glared at Túveren.

Since Tuveren had not been looking at anyone, she did not notice the glare she was getting from Elrohir. But after a moment she got a strange feeling. Nervously, she looked up. A very, very angry elf was looming over her. She shrunk down and stared at her boots. Silence.
