Landion was, indeed, smiling at her. "I love you," he whispered into her ear, as he passed her the plate of pheasant.

She giggled, "And I love you." she smiled and kissed him. She thought that was fine, since they WERE getting married. She took the food and passed it after getting some. She smiled at her father. "Please try to have a good time." she hugged him.

Urúvion smiled at his daughter again. On Vanya's other side, Ithilwen rolled her eyes. Now, if he had only been that forgiving at her wedding! She whispered as much to Glauron, careful that no one else could hear, and he laughed.

Alya looked at them and smiled, glad they were having a good time. She was aproached by many of her old friends she hadn't seen in a long while. They had, for the most part, all came. She thanked them all for coming, and told them it was so good to see them. Some were rude to Landion. They acted as though he were below them. She held his hand, as if to say she didn't care what they thought. She sat back down after the wave of people had left the table. "Whew," she said, acting as if it had been exhausting. She laughed.

Landion laughed with her. Really, she didn't care what her friends thought. He'd probably never see them again, or very seldom! He just was glad to be here, with her, today.

She smiled. "It's hard to imagine you can ever love someone so much." she said looking at him. "I guess you can never really imagine what it is like until you experience it." she said laying her head on his shoulder, careful not to poke him with one of her pins.

He smiled at her. "Yes . . ." he said, as the dessert was passed around.

She took some and kept it going. "I'm going to get so fat from all this food, we are going to have to cut the dress off!" she laughed.

Urúvion opened his mouth to say something, then made a vague gurgling sound of pain. His wife had squeezed his hand under the table. Hard. "Of course you're not, dear," she said, with a large, fake grin.

Alya laughed, "Dad, are you okay?" she asked, laughing at the face and sound he was making. She looked back at Landion. "Are you enjoying yourself?" she asked.

Landion smiled. "Of course!" he said. "I am enjoying myself immensely!" Of course he was -- it was his wedding day! Everything could be going wrong, and he'd still be blissful.

She laughed, "Good." she smiled. There were more people coming and congradulating them. They thanked each one. Then it was time for the toasts. Alya was dreading this. This was when things started really happening at Ithilwen's wedding.

Landion, too, waited anxiously to see what would happen. Even though he hadn't attended Glauron and Ithilwen's wedding, he had heard the rumors!

Landion's father stood up first. "I had wanted to say a few things if that is all right," he humbly said, waiting for the crowd to die down. Alya took Landion's hand and smiled at him. "I just wanted to say, ever since my son was younger I had always hoped he would find a good wife to settle down with. I never thought he would find someone that complaments him so well as you do Alya. And I want to be the first to welcome you to our family." he raised his glass to her. She smiled at him, raising her own glass, a tear tugging at her eye. "Thank you," she whispered.

Urúvion stood up next. "Ever since our daughter was born, we've always wanted what was best for her. In all things." A hand-squeeze from Glauron kept Ithilwen silent. "And, now we are happy that she has found someone she loves so dearly. Even though we were not happy at first with her choice, we have since come to love Landion as our son." Another hand squeeze, this one a little harder. "So, with that, I would like to welcome you, Landion, to our family -- the son we never had. A fine compliment to our only daughter." A big handsqueeze, this time, and Ithilwen's fingers were getting purple under the table. But she kept her mouth closed.
