Ithilwen rose an eyebrow. First Narsil -- Anduril, she reminded herself -- being reforged, now he was going to Gondor? "Is he accepting his kingship?!" she asked, breathless. A king in Gondor would be good, even for the Elves of Rivendell!

"I pray so," he whispered and sat next to her. "It would be wonderful for Middle Earth..." he looked up at her. "Can you see why I wish to stay?" he whisepred. "Just to see this through?"

She nodded. "Yes, I can," she admitted. "And, perhaps I'd like to, too. After all, Valinore will always be there." She smiled up at him.

"Of course it will," he said with a nod and smiled gently. He stopped, seeing Bilbo, the funny little Halfing walking down the path, whisteling softly.

Ithilwen raised an eyebrow. She hadn't run into Bilbo that much since his odd return a few years earlier -- the old Hobbit often kept to himself. "Bilbo!" she called a greeting. The Hobbit's funny appearance usually brightened her up. "What brings you to our gardens?"

He looked up, startled. "Your gardens! Well pardon me, I must have wandered a little to far..." he bowed. "Lady Ithilwen."

She smiled. "Not a problem," she said. "Actually, we were just talking about that secret Council Elrond held. Do you know what's going on?"

Bilbo looked taken aback and coughed. "Yes," he admitted.

Ithilwen smiled. "Oh! What's going on? Is this anything to do with the rumors we've been hearing about someone finding the One Ring?"

"Yes," he said with a nod. "It does." He was trying his hardest not to give anything away.

Ithilwen sat up straighter. "So, they're true, then!" she cried. "Oh, Glauron, the One Ring! Tell us, please, Bilbo, what has been done about it! You don't have to give us details!"

"It's going to be destroyed," he said with a nod and a small smile, then it faded and he sighed. Really he hoped no one had seen his outburst the other night. It was quite embarrssing.

"Good," Ithilwen said, sighing in relief. "Than it can be destroyed? I heard rumors that it couldn't . . ." But she was smiling. She looked at Glauron, to see his reaction to all this.

"It's dangerous, but that's all I can say," Bilbo said, closing his mouth, not wanting to give moe away. Glauron looked to Ithilwen, looking a little paler.
