Ithilwen cringed. "And I then remembered that I also spent some time with the Witch King of Agmar, who gave me the scars on my back." She bit her lip. That. Had. Hurt.

"And what did he ask you?" Glauron said, looking down at her. It wouldn't hurt to bad if she just spilled all at one time.

Ithilwen grimaced, but then spilled. "He asked me about Rivendell's defenses, and I told him all I knew!" she said in one breath.

Elrond's face was even paler and he nodded. "Thank you for telling me," he said with a nod and looked away. "But the river overwelemed all nine...but..." he shook his head. "Again, thank you..."

"Yes," he nodded. "That hobbit you saw... he out rode them... made it here in time..."

Ithilwen nodded. "Overwhelmed . . . how?" she asked. Could the Witch King be dead? Oh, please, may he be!

"Oh," Ithilwen said. Elrond didn't know? Wow! She would make an effort to ask Glorfindel, then, even though the blond elf scared her slightly. "So . . . you're not mad at me for telling all I knew to the Witch King?"

Ithilwen smiled. "But, how bad is it, me telling them?" she asked, still worried.

"Bad, but not as bad as you might think," he told her and kissed her forehead. "I believe they will go for the humans first."

"Oh," she said, gladdened. She had imagined it as very bad, of course. "Poor Humans." She imagined poor Gondor, right on the border with Mordor. Aragorn must be upset by that!
