"It's alright," he said, seeing his uneasiness. "I'm Glauron," he said with a smile. "And my sister is Nimmir."

Frodo smiled. "And you . . .?"
"Ithilwen," she said, smiling at him. Frodo nodded.

He smiled and looked to the small hobbits. "Just have fun in Rivendell..." he looked a the small hobbit. "And good luck."

Ithilwen looked to Glauron. <Good luck?> she asked him. <Glauron what do you know that I do not? I am your wife -- you need not hide anything from me!>

<I will tell you later,> he whispered. <It's best said behind closed doors.>

Ithilwen nodded. <Yes . . . I guess so,> she said. She still would feel better with Glorfindel or someone of the like taking the Ring. Or, better yet . . . <Why couldn't Elrond just use it? He's powerful enough to wield his ring!> She smiled, supremely confident in her foster father.

Glauron looked shocked. "No," he said, shaking his head. "Never, Ithilwen, it would do evil even through good."

"What do you mean?" Ithilwen asked, confused. "Couldn't he just use it for good?" She didn't understand that the Ring was an entity all by itself.

"It's evil itself," he whispered. "I don't know how to explain it..." she shoo his head and sighed. "But no one can use it without becoming tainted."
