"Ithilwen. I need to die. I'm not afraid. Don't worry, you'll still have Din. And my children are coming by next week." Finnar explained, holding onto Ithilwen's hand. "It's what every mortal has to go through, at some point or another. And frankley, I am greatful for it."

Ithilwen was really crying now. "Finnar, please," she said. She didn't understand, why would she welcome death?! Just the thought of death distressed an Elf -- when it was happening to someone she knew, it was even harder. "You were my best master," she said. "You didn't hurt me for fun like all the others. Please, know that!"

"I was your only master, Ithilwen." She pointed out. "Don't cry. When you go over to Valinor...d*mn. It's the elves who go there...oh well, take this." Finnar handed Ithilwen a small crystal dagger tied by a red cord, so one could hang it from thier neck. "Listen..." Finnar tapped the dager, and it made a light ringing sould that almost sounded like a song. "I'll be watching, you, ithilwen. So don't get yourself into any trouble!"

Ithilwen nodded through her tears. "You weren't my only master, I was picked up and sold in Far-Harad by a Haradrim girl named Skai," she said. "And what is this dagger? Please, Finnar, don't go yet!"

"I got it from a wandering Teleri one day. He said it came from Tirion, and survived every major elven tragedy. He said it had magical abilities...protection over dark spirits." Finnar explained. "Stop crying...You're going to make me cry, and I want to go in a good mood."

Ithilwen tried to do so, really, she did. She nodded, not caring that there was a wet tearmark down the right side of her face now. Without a sound she put the dagger around her neck, concealing it in her dress.

"That's better...Now, if you don't mind. I'm going to take a nap." Finnar said, laying back down on her bed. She pulled the covers up over her, and closed her eyes. Before drifting off to sleep she managed to whisper with a chuckle: "Beam me up, Eru." And she closed her eyes, and was drowned in Darkness.

Ithilwen watched her former Mistress drift to sleep, but . . . was she breathing? She wasn't breathing!!! "FINNAR!" she screamed, rushing to the Human's side and sobbing over her body.

Finnar saw a white light and a bunch of realatives. And was that...Uruloki? She turned around and tried to get away, but a small white girl took her heand and led her back.
Din rushed into the room, hearing Ithilwen scream her mother's name. "What's wrong?" she asked.

Ithilwen was beyond explaining -- she was sobbing in earnest now. But it was quite obvious.

Din's face dropped. "She didn't...did she?" she asked, in utter shock.
OOC: You wanna have the funeral in this thread, too?

OOC: sure, why not?
BIC: Ithilwen noticed Din for the first time. She nodded, face tear-stained, still crying unembarrased.

Din didn't shed a tear. She just walked up to her mistress, and pulled the sheets over her face. "She deserved more in life..." Din whispered. Lighting flashed outside, and a black mist began to form in the room. Din settled her emotions, as not to reveal her secret.

Ithilwen was too grief-stricken to notice, anyway. "She was a good Mistress," she said. "I never knew it at the time. But she never hurt me for the sheer fun of it, like the others did. And she . . . in the end, she was good." She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "She was a good woman, Din. You're right, she deserved more."
