Ithilwen knocked on Alya's door. It had been two weeks since she had lost her baby. Ithilwen was worried about her, so had come over for a visit.

Alya opened the door, much to the maid's dismay. "I can answer my own door," she shouted, "Ithilwen! It's so good to see you," she smiled, ushering her in, "So, how have you been?" she asked.

Ithilwen was flabberghasted. This was a far cry from the dazed and weepy woman she had left a week ago! "Oh, just fine," she said, making conversation while she worked out what was going on.

She smiled, "Good," she fanned off the Maid trying to put a blanket over her.
"Lord Elrond said to stay in bed with lots of blankets," the maid protested.
"I don't care, I'm not cold," she told her turning back to Ithilwen, "Now, how is the family?" she asked.

Ithilwen decided to just go with it. "They're fine, thanks," she said, taking her cue from Alya and pretending as if nothing was wrong. "Really, though, if Elrond says you should stay in bed, you may want to. I would be happy to go with you, if you'd like. Perhaps we could continue this conversation there?"

She shook her head, her eyes glazing over, "I don't want to be in there anymore," she said. She shook her head, "Anyways, I would rather sit out here. There is more lite," she said, back to her cheerful self.

Ithilwen nodded. She could at least, perhaps, get her to sit on the couch! "Come, then!" she said. "We shall sit and talk!" She guided Alya to her own livingroom, giving her the entire couch to herself, while Ithilwen took the armchair.

Alya smiled, sitting down. "It's hard to stand for long," she smiled weakly, "But it's good to have company. Mother stops by every day, but she didn't yesterday. I yelled at her, and I think it startled her." she told her looking away.

Ithilwen nodded, secretly glad that Vanya wasn't here at the time. She imagined that there would be more yelling if she was. "How are you holding up?"

She sighed, "I'm okay, I just don't think." she said, "It helps not to think," she shook her head. "But I'm good. Landion works a lot, I think it helps him." she said.

Alya nodded, she hadn't eaten much. She would only eat when Landion begged her. But she wanted to get out of the house.

Ithilwen nodded, happily. She knew from experience that grief made a person lose their appetite, and food was exactly what Alya would be needing. "I know the perfect place!" she said, waiting as Alya got dressed.
