He stroked her hair, not saying anything for a moment, just swaying back and forth in their dance. Then he smiled. "Would you like to do something with your husband this afternoon?" he asked.

She nodded, "That sounds perfect," she told him. She would enjoy it. "But don't tell Elrond what I've been doing today," she laughed, "If he had his way I would still be in bed resting," she told him, "I just couldn't do it anymore. I though I would go insane if I spent another second in bed," she laughed

She took his arm, "Don't tell me that, I might pretend to faint," she laughed. They walked down the path to the gardens. It was so beautiful there this time of night.

He smiled, pulling her close, worried about her despite himself. He seemed happy, but . . . how could she have recovered so fast? Was she really putting it behind her? Or just ignoring the issue, pretending like it never happened? One way lead to healing; the other to madness. His head hurt -- he was a simple blacksmith, not a good judge of people.

He smiled. "Nothing wrong!" he said. In the moonlight his smile seemed genuine. "Just . . . thinking, is all." He looked down at her. "You're so beautiful," he said, running fingers through her hair, hoping she didn't notice him changing the subject.

He smiled. "Nothing you need to be concerned about," he said gently. "Just . . . wondering. But don't worry about me! Enjoy the walk!" He pushed thoughts of his wife's mental state away and took his own advice, admiring the plants in the moonlight.
