Alya fallowed Ithilwen out of the house. The fresh air felt good on her face. She smiled, "Afterwards we should stop by the forge. Landion will be pleased I'm out," she smiled.

Ithilwen nodded happily, going to a small cafe she and Alya loved. "Here we are," she said, sitting down at a table.

Alya smiled looking around, "Wow, it's been ages since I've been here." she smiled. Ithilwen and she had come her often when they were young and single.

Ithilwen nodded, happy by the familiar surroundings . . . and the reminder of a simpler, happier time. "Yes, it has," she agreed, wondering when the maid would be by to take their order.

Alya looked at her sister. "Does the pain go away?" she whispered, whishing she hadn't said anything. Her eyes teared up, but she forced herself not to cry.

Alya nodded, still forcing back the tears. The maid came and they ordered. She smiled, it helped keep the tears at bay.

Alya sat back in her chair. She wanted to go home and hide under the covers. But she would stay here. She needed to do this, to do things. She could hide from the pain forever.

Ithilwen squeezed Alya's hand under the table. "You'll learn," she promised. "You'll learn to deal with the pain, and go on anyway. You'll see."

She nodded, hoping she was right. She looked around, watching the poeple go about their daily chores. "I wander what Landion is doing," she said to no one in particular.

Alya smiled. That was her Landion. Her rock. "No, it does take a lot. He cries sometimes when he thinks I don't hear him." she said looking down at her drink.

Ithilwen nodded. "He lost a son, too," she mused. "That's only natural." She swirled her own drink around, watching the patterns the liquid made. She couldn't imagine what the strain would be like on Glauron in a similar situation.
