Before LotR
When Mariana had left Rivendell it was in a hurry in the dark of night. SHe had only had time to grab a few things, some food, clothes, and a sword. But in her haste she had dropped a small silver chain that she had been found with as a baby. Mariana wanted to know what happend to it. It wouldn't be hard not to recognize because of the small glass pendant that hung from it. She had a feeling it was long gone, lost or desposed of. But she would sometimes watch the elven women some and go to see if she could see it. This evening she crouched in a tree overlooking one of the many court yards.

Ithilwen found an empty bench and sat down, just happy to be out-of-doors. Her ribs were still mending, but at least Glauron let her out of the house now, and alone! For a moment, she was just happy to bask in the sunlight, and watch the various Elves as they went about their separate business. But after awhile even that got old, and she took out a handkerchief she was embroidering for Glauron and began to work on it.

Mariana watched this elf. It was the same one she had met before in the forest that was almost eaten. I may be able to use her to get into Rivendell without question She crawled a little closer on the branch but heard foot steps

OOC: Well, looks like no one else is going to join, so let's combine the two, shall we? ;D
BIC:
Ithilwen looked up. "Glauron!" she said happily, with a welcoming kiss for her husband.
He smiled at her. "Hey, I got off early today. Rodwen told me you were getting some fresh air, so I won't intrude." He laughed at her protests. "No, really, I've got to get back home. Just wanted to tell you I was home!" He kissed her farewell, and left.
Ithilwen watched him go, then sat down and pulled out the hastily-hidden handkerchief, and went back to work on it with increased motivation. She was so close to finishing it!

Mariana posessed all the skill and stealth of her people. Ithilwen was completely taken unawares. She almost dropped the handkerchief in surprise, then her hand flew and her knife was out and pressed to the throat of her attacker. Only, the Elf there posed no threat. "Mariana?" Ithilwen asked.

Ithilwen laughed. "How could I not?" she asked, then shook her head. How long ago that now seemed! So much had happened in the meantime! "How have you been?" she asked.

"Well enough, alive. Which is all well and good with my lifestyle" She laughed "what have you been up to, quite a journey if I'm not mistaken"

Ithilwen tried to think of all the things that had happened since she had last seen the Mirkwood Elf, and shook her head. "Well, let's see . . ." she said. She started ticking off things on her fingers. "I met Nimmir, my best friend. Then I met Glauron, her brother (whom was just here). Then we fell in love, but my father didn't approve. So, we schemed for weeks how to get his consent, until finally Elrond himself stepped in, disowned me from my father, and unofficially adopted me. Then I went to Osgiliath, looking for something that I had left on a previous trip there, and got captured by orcs, tortured, and almost raped." She winced at the memory. "As well as braking three ribs. Then I came back home, and after awhile got married!" Her eyes shone, just thinking about Glauron. "But my ribs got hurt again, and I've been in recovery for the past month." She thought, making sure she hadn't missed anything, then nodded.
"Anything new with you?"

Mariana's jaw dropped I can't use her now! She's been through enough "Oh my god! Um... well I'm sorry about your father and the thing with the orcs but congradulations. I'm sure you and your husband will be very happy" She smiled "Me... well I've almost been eaten several times by several types of creatures. But thats nothing new"

Ithilwen smiled. "Thank you," she said. She hadn't gotten over anything, but had at least gotten used to living with the emotional issues. And Glauron had certainly been a wonderful boone! "And it's good to see that you've managed to survive the various attempts on your life!" She laughed.

Mariana laughed with her "Well you must tell me all about your new husband. But possibly inside if thats alright with you. It's getting a bit chilly out" Mariana smiled innocently.

Ithilwen looked up. "Of course, how rude of me!" she cried. She packed up everything (she could finish it later), then stood up. "Would you like some wine? We have some very good vintage at my home!"
